AYLA Shines at Retro Vegas Party
On Saturday night, May 19th, two hundred attorneys, judges, judicial candidates, local Bar leaders and their guests enjoyed the Austin Young Lawyers Association’s fundraising gala, “Retro Vegas.” The event was held at the San Jacinto Center overlooking Lady Bird Lake.
AYLA combined event lighting, a multimedia presentation, roaming showgirls, casino gaming and local singers and comedians to transform the venue into a 1960’s era casino with three floors of entertainment. Partygoers enjoyed specialty cocktails poured by Deep Eddy Vodka and Hendricks Gin and fabulous bites provided by Third Base, Max’s Wine Dive, Emily’s Catering, Mama Fu's, One Classy Cookie and Violet’s Sweet Treats. There was also an opportunity to don props and take pictures in a themed photo booth by Tommy Kile Photography, where “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”
During the event, AYLA handed out its Outstanding Alumnus award to Jan Soifer and its Outstanding Mentor Award to Sara Foskitt. “This year’s winners were a no-brainer,” said AYLA President Adam Schramek. “Jan and Sara have done much for the Austin community and we are proud to recognize their many accomplishments.”
AYLA would like to thank all of its Retro Vegas sponsors for making this event possible. The evening capped a very successful year for AYLA, which was recently named the outstanding young lawyers association in the State of Texas.
